Alexander McQueen Black Gown

Description

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a beautiful Alexander McQueen Black Gown to BAFTA 2017. The gown Catherine wore was a customised version of the label’s black Long Tire Voilet Jacquard dress with a floral motif from the label’s 2016 Resort Collection.

Black mix violet jacquard Long Tier $7, 765 Dress featured thin straps, boning within the bodice with built-in bra construction. Organza layering throughout the skirt. Duchess had the straps modified and turned it into an off-shoulder gown.

The Duchess of Cambridge re-modelled the top of the gown and again wore it in March 2019 at NPG Gala.

The original version of the gown has an off-shoulder bodice. The new version has cap sleeves added to it.

I believe the whole bodice of the gown has been changed. You can see the difference in the bodice in the picture. The old bodice has different flower printing placements than the new one.
