Queen’s Diamond and Pearl Leaf Brooch

Description

Catherine, The Princess of Wales, wore Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond and Pearl Leaf Brooch on loan from Her Majesty in 2017 when she visited Belgium to Mark the Centenary of Passchendaele. The brooch features 3 pearls set in the centre of a paved Diamond leaves. Kate again wore the brooch at the annual festival of Remembrance in November 2018.

The brooch does not seem to have any long history. It was first seen in 1999, when Queen Elizabeth II wore it during her South Korea visit.

The Queen loaned the brooch to her grand-daughter-in-law, Catherine, in 2017 who wore it at the centenary of Passchendaele in 2017.

The Brooch again made appearance at the 2018 Festival of Remembrance. The brooch looks like a detachable piece,  If looked closely you can see the brooch Catherine wore in 2018 is only the stem not the pearls and she set three poppies on the stem in the same shape the pearls were set.

The theory of brooch being a detachable piece seems to be correct. In 2023, at the Remembrance Sunday service, Princess Kate wore the matching earrings which actually looks like the pearl and paved diamond petals of the brooch.
