Roksanda Ilincic Ryedale Dress

Description

Catherine wore Roksanda Ilincic ‘Ryedale’ Yellow Colour-Block Dress in April 2014, when she arrived in Australia for a royal tour. She again wore the dress to Wimbledon in 2016. The £900 gold-yellow dress was a sartorial nod to the host country as gold and green are Australia’s national colours.

Designed by London-based Serbian designer, Roksanda Ilincic, the dress was a customised version of the designer’s ‘Ryedale’ ivory wool-crepe dress giving it square neckline and fitted sleeves and reversed colour block making yellow the dominant colour.  Catherine’s dress was rendered in a sunshine yellow with ivory block accents. During the tour, Catherine told the reporters, “William said I look like a banana” since then dress was famously known as Banana Dress.
