Maple Leaf Brooch

Description

Catherine wore a Maple leaf brooch for the first time in July 2011 when she undertook her first royal tour as a member of the royal family to Canada. The brooch was presented to Queen Elizabeth I by her husband King George VI before Canada tour in 1939.

Queen Elizabeth I passed on the brooch that became the symbol of a highly successful tour amid war to her daughter Queen Elizabeth II. Later on, the Maple leaf became the centre of the Canadian Flag in 1965. Since then royal ladies undertaking tour to Canada wear this Maple Leaf Brooch.   Catherine again wore the brooch in September 2016 during the Canada tour.
