Queen Letizia, the Honorary President of UNICEF Spanish Committee, today welcomed former UN Secretary Ban Ki-moon in Madrid where she delivered “UNICEF Spanish Committee Awards 2017″.
These awards, convened on a biennial basis in four international categories, highlight the cultural, social or human work of national and international persons, groups or institutions related to the well-being of children.

The 44-year-old Spanish royal honoured the former UN Secretary-General for his ‘exemplary career’, ‘institutional and personal commitment’ and ‘hard and rigorous work’.
