After spending the morning visiting tourists spots in Benidorm, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain arrived at the National Science Museum in Valencia. Felipe and Letizia presided over the presentation ceremony of the 2019 National Innovation and Design Awards, where they presented the awards.

The National Innovation and Design Awards distinguish those individuals and entities (institutions and organizations) that have made innovation an indispensable element in the development of their professional strategy and business growth, as well as awarding professionals who have contributed significantly to the increase in the prestige of Spanish design and to the entities that, incorporating it into their business strategy, have shown that design is a powerful lever for innovation and competitiveness.
The awards were presented in the four categories: Innovative Career, Large Company, Small and Medium Business, and Special Mention in Innovation in the Small and Medium Business modality.

King Felipe spoke a few words in which he stressed that “Today more than ever, we need to undertake –Create– on the basis of design and innovation”.

For the second leg of the day, Queen Letizia of Spain wore a stunning red dress.
Letizia wore a red halter neck dress that she first wore in August 2019 at the annual Balearic Society reception.
