Saturday 1st October was a busy final day given it was the last day of the tour.

The first engagement was a visit to the Cridge Centre for the Family – one of Victoria’s most well-known charitable institutions. The Centre provides a range of services, including childcare, youth outreach, and support for women who have experienced domestic violence. The Centre provides shelter, care and hope for children, women, families and the elderly from all walks of life and abilities.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge meet staff and residents and unveil a monument dedicated to those who have overcome adversity. The met with many members who benefitted from the centre.

The Royal couple did a short walkabout meeting and greeting the locals. They spent time meeting with young kids. Duchess also revealed that Prince George loves pizza. Catherine received a beautiful bouquet from a little girl who was dressed in a Frozen Princess attire.

The Duke and Duchess then visited a local café where they met with families that have been supported by the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre, one of British Columbia’s leading mental health charities. The Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre is designed to help B.C. children, youth and their families locate and use resources to make informed decisions and gain access to appropriate services.

Kelty uses digital and community-based tools to take mental health services and information to families throughout the province. This focus on signposting and information provision chimes closely with the work that The Duke and Duchess are focusing on along with Prince Harry through their Heads Together campaign.

Then they boarded a tall-ship operated by the Sail and Life Training Society, a charity that uses the power of sailing to give young people skills and direction in their lives.

Onboard was a group of young people who are part of JACK.org – a national network of youth who are working to end the stigma around mental health for their generation. Sailing from Ogden Point into Victoria’s Inner Harbour on the tall ship Pacific Grace with Sail and Life Training Society (SALTS) and Jack.org. SALTS uses the training and teamwork required to sail a tall ship as a way to engage, inspire heal and mentor young people from all walks of life.

Jack.org is a national charity dedicated to supporting student leadership in mental health promotion and advocacy work across Canada. Jack.org works with youth across the country to start conversations that are tailored to address the diverse community needs and realities.

They talked to these young people about their work while actively taking part in helping to sail the tall ship before docking in the inner harbour.

For the first part of the day, The Duchess of Cambridge chose Zara Tailored Blazer with H&M Off-Shoulder Top and Zara Black Skinny Jeans. Catherine paired the outfit with her Annoushka Baroque Pearl Drops, J. Crew Avery Pumps and Cartier Ballon Bleu watch.
