Spanish King Felipe and Queen Letizia today made their first official public appearance of the year 2021. The Royal couple attended the traditional celebration of Military Easter at the Royal Palace of Madrid. The Military Easter Parade is a prominent part of the Spanish Royal and Military calendar and marks the beginning of the Military year in Spain.

The annual parade, that dates back to 1782 during the reign of Carlos III, began with the National Anthem and the salute of 21 cannon fires at the Armory Square of the Royal Palace of Zarzuela. The ceremony is held annually on the day of Epiphany at the Royal Palace of Madrid.

on January 06 in 1782, when the Spanish army recovered the Menorcan town of Mahón from the British army, King Carlos III ordered the viceroys, captains general, governors and military commanders to gather the garrisons on the feast of the Epiphany to mark the victory. Since then a traditional Military ceremony is held every year to celebrate the day.

As expected, for the first event of 2021, Queen Letizia kept her look minimal and understated.

At first glance, I thought she is wearing the same skirt that she first wore in 2015 at the annual Foreign Ambassadors reception at the Royal Palace. But a closer inspection shows it is a different piece.
