The Royal Family

Last week, The Duchess of Cambridge called Antigua to congratulate Jasmine Harrison on becoming the youngest woman to solo row the Atlantic. Palace released the video to mark International Women’s Day.  Jasmine Harrison became the youngest woman to solo row the Atlantic – completing the record-breaking 3,000-mile row on 20th February aged 21.

Jasmine, who is from Yorkshire, represented team RudderlyMad to raise money for ShelterBox and the Blue Marine Foundation. The journey took her 70 days, three hours, and 48 minutes.

During the call, The Duchess of Cambridge and Jasmine discussed how celebrating and elevating awareness of this achievement can work to challenge perceptions around what women are capable of, in addition to providing the motivation to pursue ambitious goals.

Talking about her experience, Jasmine said, “I would like to change male perspectives on females. It’s not about women believing they can do something because we can, we kind of know that (we can) already.”

The Duchess seems really excited to learn more about Jasmine’s time in the water. When she asked her how it felt to be there for 70 days, Jasmine said, “To be in the peace of the ocean for so many days, you get to appreciate the world we live in, in a way we can’t when life is busy.”

“You’re inspiring loads of other women and young girls to follow in your footsteps”- The Duchess of Cambridge

The Duchess of Cambridge told Jasmine, “Your achievement has made massive progress in helping to change that perception, so if nothing else it’s given a huge door opener to so many other young women with that idea, with determination, with bravery, and confidence so much is really achievable, so a huge well done.”

You might remember, Catherine herself trained for a rowing championship in 2007. She signed up for a charity challenge with an all-female dragon boat racing crew called the Sisterhood, who called themselves: A-Team – ‘An elite group of female athletes, talented in many ways, toned to perfection with killer looks, on a mission to keep boldly going where no girl has gone before.

The £80 top is described as, “With this lightweight blouse on hand, elegant outfits are only a moment away. Its flattering, semi-fitted shape takes full advantage of the natural drape of the fabric. The shoulders are gently shaped and the sleeves nipped in at the wrist for an airy feel. Sophistication comes with a keyhole opening and fabric-covered buttons at the cuffs. For a statement finish, there’s an attached necktie in matching material, which you can do up neatly in a bow or leave loose and relaxed.”

The Duchess of Cambridge's video call showed another picture of Prince George, Princess Charlotteand Prince Louis
The Royal Family

And finally, we got the full glimpse of an unseen picture of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis in the background that had been teasing all of us for more than 2 months. Along with this an unseen picture that I believe is from Prince George’s 2020 birthday picture collections, we can see a family picture from Princess Charlotte’s christening, Princess Charlotte and George on their first day of school in 2019, and Prince Louis with Mummy at her ‘Back to Nature’ Garden.

As I mentioned yesterday, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are back in London. I hope Prince George and Princess Charlotte had a smooth transition from homeschooling to back in school. We might see The Duchess of Cambridge undertaking some in-person engagement soon as the UK is slowly reopening. It is being reported that The Duchess of Cambridge was seen driving around in London today.
