Today, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain departed for their two days long State visit to Andorra. Felipe and Letizia’s state visit is the first Royal State visit since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
This is the first Spanish state visit of King Felipe and Queen Letizia to the Pyrenean country within the framework of the cordial bilateral relations between the two countries.
During their trip, KIng Felipe and Queen Letizia will have the opportunity to meet the Andorran authorities, both legislative and executive, as well as to learn about highlights of the educational system and Andorran cultural heritage.
The visit is part of the Andorran presidency of the XXVIII Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government that will be held on April 21, which King Felipe VI is scheduled to participate in.
The Royal couple arrived at the Casa de la Vall, headquarters of the General Council of Andorra after a 90 mins flight.

On arrival they were welcomed by the Enric Vives, Co-Prince of Andorra and Archbishop “Ad Personam” of Urgell and Patrick Strzoda, representative of the French President in Andorra la Vella. The Royal couple received the official military welcome on arrival in the Principality of Andorra.
After the official reception, The Royal couple held a meeting with the General Ombudsman of Andorra and the parliamentary authorities of the Principality of Andorra and signed the Book of Honor.
The couple received a guided tour of the Casa de la Vall.
The second stop of the day was the the Community of Andorra la Vella. Felipe and Letizia toured the City hall at the Community centre where various art pieces are on display.
The couple had a small street tour of the city. Memebers of the public greeted the Royals very warmly.
Queen Letizia had a solo meeting with the Minister of Education and Higher Education of Andorra authorities.
Agenda of the meeting was the model of inclusion of students with disabilities in the three educational models.
For the first part of the visit, as expected Queen Letizia chose to recycle something from her wardrobe.
Letizia was wearing her Massimo Dutti Limited Edition open back dress from the 2020 Autumn-Winter collection that she debuted last month during a visit to a cultural exhibition.
