After spending 2 days in Jamaica undertaking various engagements, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left for the third part of their Royal Caribbean tour – the Bahamas. Earlier today, The Royal couple attended the inaugural Commissioning Parade in Kingston for service personnel across the Caribbean who have completed the Military Academy’s officer training program and reception.

Last night The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attend the official reception. Giving a historical speech, Prince William said, “I strongly agree with my father, The Prince of Wales, who said in Barbados last year that the appalling atrocity of slavery forever stains our history. I want to express my profound sorrow. Slavery was abhorrent. And it should never have happened. While the pain runs deep, Jamaica continues to forge its future with determination, courage, and fortitude.”

It won’t be an overestimate if we say that this would be the last royal visit to the country while The Queen remains head. The country has declared its intention to elect a President as its head. But as I have said many times that until it happens it’s all just a discussion.

For the departure, The Duchess of Cambridge wore her green Emilia Wickstead dress that she wore at Wimbledon in 2021.

The dress seems to be a bespoke version of the label’s Denver Sleeveless Cloque Midi Dress. Catherine had the midi dress altered with the sleeves and bodice that seem to be from the label’s Darcey dress and Melinda gown. Thanks to UfonoMore for pointing out that fine detail. The luxurious cloqué dress features cap sleeves, a tailored bodice with a pleated skirt.

Catherine topped the dress with the Queen’s Hummingbird Brooch, which was gifted to the monarch during her 2002 visit to Jamaica.  The brooch is described on the RCT website as, “Brooch in the form of the Jamaican National Doctor Bird (a species of hummingbird only found in Jamaica) noted for its distinctive tail streamers. The brooch can be converted into a hatpin”.
