King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain received the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at the Royal Palace of Madrid. The war-torn Ukraine has been going through tough times for more than a 2 years now and its President is visiting various allies to gain support to protect the country. King Felipe officially received the President at the State Pavilion of Adolfo Súarez Madrid-Barajas Airport.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain hosted a lunch for the Ukrainian President at the Royal Palace which was attended by various Government officials. Addressing the gathering, King Felipe said, “for more than two years the whole world has witnessed the heroism, dedication, courage and resistance of the people of Ukraine, their Government, and their Armed Forces. Also, unfortunately, of the violation of the most essential norms and principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, which undermines the foundations of international peace and security. Spain can only reiterate the condemnation, in the strongest terms, of the large-scale invasion that its country suffers.”
