King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain are marking a big milestone next week – their 20th wedding anniversary. Ahead of the big day, The Spanish Royal Palace shared 11 new family pictures in which Felipe and Letizia posed with their both daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia.
The beautiful pictures were taken in the lush gardens of the Royal Palace of Madrid, Campo del Moro. The gorgeous gardens of the Royal Palace span in the area of 20 acres and were designed by Felipe II centuries ago. The garden is available for a visit free of cost.
Felipe and Letizia got married on May 22nd in 2004 at the Almudena Cathedral in Madrid. Madrid city saw a Royal wedding after almost a century. The couple met sometime in 2000/2001 at a private party and dated privately for more than 2 years before getting married.
Their two daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia are now two young ladies who are the future of the Spanish Royal Family. Felipe and Letizia are currently going through the empty nest emotions as both Leonor and Sofia are staying away from home due to their education and training.
Leonor is currently enrolled at the General MIlitary Academy for her mandatory military education while Sofia is in Wales, UK for high school.
The beautiful pictures show their happy family away from public life and behind the palace doors. The candid shots, in which the family is dressed in coordinated shades but informally, reflects the family bond Felipe and Letizia have created in their 20 years long marriage. We wish them many more years of togetherness and happiness!
