After attending the Military celebrations marking King Felipe’s 10th Proclamation Anniversary, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia headed to the Royal Collection Gallery to join young people representing various fields of life for a tour of the newly opened Gallery. Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia were joined by 40 young people between 17 and 20 years of age, winners of the contest of the 32th to 39th editions of the contest ‘What is a King for you’.

The Contest was organized by the Spanish Institutional Foundation (FIES), a cultural foundation, created in 1976 in order to promote the value of the Crown as an integrative institution and promoter of coexistence in Spanish Society. After touring the Gallery of the Royal Collections, Leonor and Sofia held a meeting with young winners of the school contest that promotes the creativity of children from all over Spain through their work on the monarchical institution

Later in the evening, The Spanish Royal Family headed to the Plaza de Oriente of the Royal Palace of Madrid to watch a musical “Capriccio de Corazón” created specially to mark the 10th Proclamation anniversary by violinist Ara Malikian.

After the musical, a special light show was organized at the Palace reflecting the 10 years of Felipe’s reign with title “Felipe VI” 2014. A special exhibition is set to open tomorrow by King and Queen showcasing the decade of Felipe VI at the Royal Palace of Madrid. The exhibition – which has the collaboration of National Heritage – reviews, through a video and large-format photography, the most important events of this decade.
