King Felipe and Princess Leonor presented Royal Offices to the Non-Commissioned Officers

Leonor, The Princess of Asturias, joined her father, King Felipe VI of Spain, for an official military event at the Basic General Academy of Non-commissioned Officers in Talarn, Lleida to present the Royal Offices to the XLIX Promotion of the Non-commissioned Scale. Princess Leonor herself graduated from General Military Academy of Zaragoza earlier this week where King Felipe presented her with the credentials.

In Spain, the Monarch is the head of the all forms of military. Currently the title is being held by King Felipe. Felipe and Letizia are training their elder daughter for her future role for which Leonor is going through 3 years long Military training with all forms of armed forces. She finished her first year with General Military Academy and now in August will be heading for her Naval training.

Upon their arrival at AGBS, the King and the Princess were received by the Chief of Staff of the Army of the Earth Army, Army General Amador Fernando Enseñat and Berea and by the Colonel Director of AGBS, Ángel Francisco Rodríguez Gallo, among other authorities. The event began with the reading of the ephemeral of the creation of the Basic General Academy of Non-commissioned Officers on 31 May 1974.

The General Basic Academy of Non-commissioned Officers is a military school located in the Leridana region of Pallars Jussá, next to the town of Talarn. From its founding in 1974 to the present, all the non-commissioned officers of the Earth Army and Military Music Corps have passed through its classrooms.

Next week, Princess Leonor will be in Girona for the annual Princess of Girona Foundation awards and various events with her Family. On July 12th, Leonor will be heading to Portugal for her very first solo International Engagement. She will be received in the Palace of Belém, by President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. This trip will take place at the express invitation of the President of Sousa and will have a particular focus on the protection of the environment and the conservation of the oceans, priority themes for Portugal and Spain.
