King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain were at the National Museum Art Center Reina Sofia in Madrid to present the annual National Culture Awards. This was the Royal couple’s first joint engagement together since Letizia’s schedule was cancelled last weekend due to the escalated situation in the region and King Felipe traveled to Jordan alone.
Awarded by the Ministry of Culture, the awards are given to the individuals or organizations that contribute significantly to enrich the Spanish Heritage in the country and outside of the country. Other than the Culture awards, National Film Award was also presented at the ceremony that takes place every year at the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
The awards are categorized in 7 broad categories and presented to 30 winners. King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia presented the awards and stood for the group photographs.
