The Denmark Royal Court released new official portraits of King Frederik and Queen Mary this week. Taken by photographer Steen Evald in the Great Hall of Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg, the portraits will be used by The Royal House of Denmark in connection with, among other things, official trips, visits and special events as well as by the patronages of The King and The Queen.
Queen Mary opted for a sleek white ensemble, paired with a plum smokey eye makeup, rose pink lipstick, and a soft blush highlighting her cheekbones. She complemented her look with diamond earrings and a cherished ‘F’ necklace, symbolizing Frederik, while her brunette hair was styled in soft, wavy curls.
For the first time, civil portraits of the couple have been taken, following the publication of their stunning gala portraits in April, in which they were dressed in royal regalia. The photographs were released just shy of two months before the first anniversary of Frederik’s ascension to the throne.
