King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain were at the University of Alcalá where The Spanish King received the Honorary Doctorate as part of the recognition of his close connection with the institution and his commitment to human rights, culture and research, according to the Department of Legal Sciences. Queen Letizia was looking elegant and proud during the event.
The King and Queen were joined by the University authorities, local authorities and many other dignitaries for the event. The Royal couple took their seats in the paraninfo. The University of Alcalá was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. King Felipe has always played a significant role in the promotion of the university on the global stage.
