Princess Leonor of Spain, who is on her 6 months long Navy training aboard the student ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano, is being prepared for the time when she will be head of the all forms of Spanish Military. This Friday, the ship arrived at its first out of Spain destination, Salvador de Bahía (Brazil).
This was the first stop of the student ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano since leaving the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in January 2025. The ship is scheduled to be back in Spain in July after cruising through the sea covering Peru, Panama, Colombia and Santo Domingo, and New York.
Palace has continuously shared the moments from Leonor’s sea training journey with the public with numerous pictures and videos. The ship is carrying 20 officers, 20 non-commissioned officers, 130 soldiers from the Marines and Troop scales and two civilian teachers.
Upon arrival at the port of Salvador de Bahía, The women’s percussion group of the Pracatum school, gave a musical performance on the ship as the welcome to the group.
Leonor also met with the Spanish ambassador to Brazil upon her arrival and had a lunch which was also attended by few other Spanish authorities. The ship will be docking at the port for a few days before heading for the next destination.
