Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the annual FAD youth Foundation board meeting at Campus Repsol in Madrid. Queen Letizia has been the Honorary President of the Youth Foundation for Help Against Drugs since 2015. The meeting mainly discussed various challenges faced by the youth in Spain in terms of health, education and employment.
In the area of health and well-being, worrying data have been provided on the increase in emotional distress among young people. According to the Youth, Health and Welfare 2023 Barometer, almost six out of ten young people have experienced psychological discomfort in the last year, with symptoms such as tiredness, problems of concentration and sadness.
In addition, there has been an increase in the consumption of prescription hypnosedants among children under 18 years of age, which underlines the need for preventive measures and psychological support.
