On May 5, 2025, Queen Mary of Denmark, alongside King Frederik X, attended a welcome ceremony at Fredensborg Palace as they took up residence at the Chancellery House for the summer. The event marked the Danish royal family’s traditional seasonal move from their primary residence at Frederik VIII’s Palace in Amalienborg, Copenhagen, to Fredensborg Palace, located on the eastern shore of Lake Esrum in Zealand, Denmark.
The ceremony occurred on Monday, May 5, 2025, in the afternoon. King Frederik and Queen Mary were officially received by the Mayor of Fredensborg. The locals gathered outside and lined the streets to welcome the Royal couple. The couple’s two Border Collies, Grace and Coco, were notably present, charming attendees and nearly stealing the spotlight. There was a musical performance by the Fredensborg Castle Church Girls’ Choir and the Fredensborg Brass Ensemble
