2017 left with lots of exceptions and excitement. William and Catherine have taken up the role of full-time royals and made Kensington Palace their official residence. Prince George and Princess Charlotte are growing up in a loving and caring environment. The Cambridge family was getting ready to welcome the fifth member of their family. The family welcomed 2018 at the Middleton Mansion before moving to Anmer Hall.
The first sighting of the Duchess of Cambridge was the Sunday Church service with Prince William and Royal Family on January 07 2018. Catherine wore Moloh Turpin Tweed coat, Lacorine Sumac – Luxury Alpaca Fur Hat, Tod’s Fringed leather pumps, Cornelia James ‘Clementine’ gloves, Sapphire & Diamond Oval Drop Earrings and carried Chanel Calfskin Bag.
The first change in 2018 we saw was the absence of annual Mustique vacation and the reason was very cute and adorable – Prince George and Princess Charlotte. George was already a full-time student at Thomas’s Battersea in London and Charlotte started her nursery on January 08 2018 at Willcocks Nursery School in London. Duke and Duchess shared two beautiful pictures of adorable Princess taken by Duchess herself on the first day of Charlotte’s Nursery.
Catherine’s first official appearance was during a visit to Place2Be on January 10, 2018, after celebrating her birthday quietly. She was wearing Hobbs London Gianna coat, Seraphine Florrie Dress, Jimmy Choo Navy Pumps, Sapphire and Diamond oval earrings and Stuart Weitzman ‘Muse’ suede clutch.
The first joint appearance of Duke and Duchess was on January 16, 2018, when the couple visited Coventry for a day full of engagements. Catherine wore Mulberry Creise Pink Coat, Tod’s Suede Pumps, Mulberry Bayswater clutch, Cornelia James Beatrice Gloves, and Kiki McDonough Morganite earrings.
Duchess undertook series of engagements before embarking on another royal tour in January.
On January 29 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Sweden for 4 days tour of Sweden and Norway. It was another first of Duchess as she was visiting both countries officially the first time. In Sweden Duke and Duchess were welcomed by Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, toured the country for 2 days before heading towards Norway.
In Norway, the Crown Prince welcomed the Duke and Duchess. Later on, King and Queen of Norway invited the couple to the royal palace where they attended a black-tie dinner.

After coming back from royal tour, Duchess, who was expecting her third child in April, had a very busy royal calendar for next two months February and March.
She opened a treatment centre in Essex, joined William on BAFTA, hosted a reception to celebrate Commonwealth Fashion Exchange at Buckingham Palace, visited Sunderland with William, Launched and promote Nursing campaigns, attended Royal Forum and visited Victorian Giant Exhibition in February.
In March she started the royal duties by visiting Oxford School. She opened a new headquarter of Place2Be, attended Commonwealth day with the royal family, held a discussion at children’s Tennis initiative at the palace, joined William for St. Patrick’s day, attended Mental health symposium and celebrated a commonwealth day with various engagements before going on maternity leave.
For more than one month the royal watches were holding their breath to hear the news of the royal baby’s arrival. Finally, the news came on April 23, 2018, that Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s hospital in the early stages of labour.
Within a few minutes, the Great Kate wait again started and world media was waiting outside the Lindo Wing. After 5 hours of labour, Duchess gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 11:01 AM. Prince William was present at the time of their baby’s birth.
As per the royal tradition, a framed notice of the birth was put on display on a ceremonial easel in the forecourt at the Buckingham Palace.
Keeping up with the tradition, William brought Prince George and Princess Charlotte to meet with their new baby brother at the hospital. George who just came from his school was looking handsome in his uniform while Charlotte was as always cute as a button. She won the heart of everyone when she oh so cutely waved at the press waiting for them outside the hospital.
In the evening the new Prince of Cambridge came out of the hospital cuddled safely in his mother’s arms. Catherine who just gave birth a few hours ago looked radiant in red Jenny Packham dress paired with Queen’s diamond and pearl earrings and Gianvito Rossi 85 Praline Pumps.
Duke and Duchess announced the name of their younger son on April 27 2018 – Louis Arthur Charles. He is styled as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.
The couple released official portrait of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to mark the 3rd birthday of Charlotte and birth of Louis on May 05, 2018.

Duchess’s first public appearance since giving birth was the royal wedding of May 2018. She chose cream coatdress from her trusty label Alexander McQueen with a new wide brim hat with floral details by Philip Treacy, Jimmy Choo Romy nude salons and Kiki McDonough lemon Quartz and diamond pear and oval drop earrings.
On June 10 2018, Catherine brought both George and Charlotte to the polo match that William was playing. It was Charlotte’s debut appearance at a polo match. Catherine chose a chic Zara blue striped off-the-shoulder dress with Russell & Bromley Coco-Nut ankle strap espadrille wedges, Victoria Beckham Tote.
The christening of Prince Louis took place on July 09 2018 at the St. James Palace in London. Once again Catherine wore a beautiful cream dress from Alexander McQueen paired with a stunning headband from Jane Taylor, Jimmy Choo Romy nude salons, Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore Pearl Studs.
Portrait photographer Matt Holyoak was the official photographer at the christening of Prince Louis. The official photographs were taken at Clarence House following the service in The Chapel Royal.
The couple has released 4 photographs that were clicked at the Morning Room and Garden of the Clarence House, the official residence of Louis’ Grandfather Prince Charles of Wales.
William and Catherine were giving royal watchers treat upon treat. On George’s 5th birthday couple released another portrait of Prince George that was also taken on Prince Louis’ christening day.
After the birth of Prince Louis, Duchess decided to take a full 6 months maternity leave unlike her previous children’s birth when she came back to the royal duties earlier. During the maternity leave, she joined the family for important events like Trooping the Colour, RAF Centenary Service, Sunday Service at Balmoral. She was also seen a few times during the period on non-official events like Horse trials, at a polo match with George and Charlotte, at the wedding of her close friend. She reportedly was quite busy with behind the scene meetings and learning more about early year intervention as it was revealed in September that Duchess is set to launch a long-term project bringing attention to the early year interventions.
Duchess resumed her duties in October with a visit to Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden at Paddington Recreation Ground. It was reported that Duchess, a hands-on mum, is keen to spend quality time with her children and will keep the workload manageable until the end of the year.
She undertook engagements and attended few family events including a visit to Victoria and Albert Museum visit, Global Mental Health Summit, Princess Eugenie’s Wedding, State Banquet, visited Essex, Visited Imperial War Museum in October.
In November she joined William for Tusk Conservation Awards, ,Royal Family for the annual Royal Festival of Remembrance, National Service of Remembrance Day, Special Armistice Service, a visit to South Yorkshire and made a surprise visit to BBCOne, an embargoed visit to University College of London’s Developmental Neuroscience Lab, Poignant Visit to Leicester with William.
November 2018 marked another milestone in Royal Family, Prince Charles of Wales turned 70. The family celebrated the event by releasing family portraits and Queen hosted a lavish dinner for Charles attended by many foreign royal families.
The year headed towards its climax with an announcement of William and Harry separating their courts, a Christmas party hosted by Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for service personnel deployed in Cyprus, Diplomatic Reception, visited Cyprus, new patronage.
Giving a royal treat before Christmas, the Duke and Duchess released a family portrait that will be used on their family Christmas card this year, giving us another glimpse inside the Cambridge Household.
