Queen’s Dubai Looped Sapphire Demi-Parure earrings
Description
The Duchess of Cambridge debuted earrings from Queen’s Dubai Looped Sapphire Demi-Parure in May 2021 when she hosted a special screening for NHS staff. Her Majesty loaned the earrings to The Duchess.
The diamond and sapphire demi-parure was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II by Sheikh Rashid of Dubai in 1979 when The Queen visited the Middle East. The original set, designed by Asprey London, included a necklace of diamond loops with alternating loops surrounding large oval sapphires with a pair of earrings and a ring.
The Queen loved the set and made some changes to it that resulted in a shorten necklace and a pair of earrings was designed from the two spare sapphires. While the original earrings and ring were broken down to design a bracelet. But we rarely saw The Queen wearing the set.
