The Duchess of Cambridge was wearing Robinson Pelham Maidenhair Fern Leaves Brooch in April 2022 at the Anzac Day Service.
Another interesting tidbit about the piece is that Catherine’s sister Pippa wore the tiara and hair ornament to secure her veil on her wedding day and those pieces her exactly the same design. Here the hair ornament is shown in the picture.
I am not sure if Pippa or her husband James has any significant connection to New Zealand or if it was just a beautiful piece that she chose to wear. But the fern leaves are the national symbol of New Zealand.
Catherine borrowed Her Majesty’s New Zealand Silver Fern Brooch during her first visit to New Zealand. Maidenhair ferns also hold special significance in the country.
