It was a quite busy day on Thursday at the Palace of La Zarzuela in Madrid, as both King Felipe VI and Spanish Queen Letizia were busy in receiving audiences from various representatives.

Queen Letizia received two audiences. In the morning she met with the members of the Mavi Calzada Handball Club New Technologies on the occasion of having proclaimed himself a champion of the XXXIX edition of the “Cup of HM the Queen” of Handball.

Handball Club La Calzada, a women ‘s club formed in 1995, has a senior team in the league Guerreras Iberdrola, the top flight of national and handball teams based in the highest categories of children, cadets and juveniles of Asturian handball. In 2018, the team won the ‘Cup of HM the Queen’ in Malaga.

Later in the day, Queen Letizia met with the representation of the Spanish Brain Injury Federation (FEDACE) as Queen has accepted the Chair of the Honor Committee of the IV National Congress of Brain Damage, which was held in Madrid on the 22nd and 23rd November 2018.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain today inaugurated 39th edition of the International Tourism Fair-FITUR in Madrid. The Fair is being held from 23 to 27 January at the Feria de Madrid, and has the Dominican Republic as an honorary member, under the motto “It has everything”.
