Queen Letizia of Spain undertook her first solo official engagement of the year 2019 on Wednesday. She presided over the Working meeting with the Foundation for Help against Drug Addiction in the Headquarters of the FAD in Madrid.

Foundation’s, whose Letizia is honorary President, the main objective is the prevention of drug use and other risky behaviours that prevent or hinder the personal and social development of adolescents. The FAD was created in 1986 on the initiative of Manuel Gutiérrez Mellado -chairman of the institution until his death in 1995- with the support of companies, institutions and professionals, and develops its activities in collaboration with other civil society organizations that understand that Drug problems require a solitary response, which must be articulated mainly from the field of prevention. Queen is the honorary president of this institution since 2015 that was passed to her by Queen Sofía.

Upon arrival, Queen was received by the President of the Foundation Ignacio Bayón and the general director of the FAD, Beatriz Martín.

Before the meeting, Queen Letizia made a brief tour of the facilities, where she visited the offices of management, technical direction and communication, as well as the area of life and the telephone guidance centre.

The meeting discussed five projects for the year 2019: The Real Young- Next awareness campaign aimed at young people, In Form – Educational Program,  Safe spaces for women – Development Cooperation in El Salvador, Project Femtástica and Young people- consumption and leisure.

For the first engagement of the year, Queen Letizia was back to her professional elegance keeping the attention on the issue.

Queen was wearing black Zara Military Jacket. Letizia debuted €80 jacket during State trip to Portugal in November 2016. We last saw the jacket in March 2018 at Royal Theater workshop.

Underneath the jacket, Letizia was wearing a white Hugo Boss top that she first wore in June 2015 at Princess of Asturias Foundation meeting.

She paired the top and jacket with a new Hugo Boss Slim-Fit Cropped Trouser. The black streamlined trousers by HUGO Womenswear with a slightly cropped leg and a low rise is designed in open-cut stretch jersey for contemporary effect, these mid-weight trousers feature a modern narrow fit. The €149 trouser is currently on sale and is available in blue colour for £69.00.

She was wearing Hugo Boss ‘Staple R100-C’ black crocodile-embossed pumps.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain today started the official duties of 2019 with the traditional celebration of the Military Easter, also known as New Year’s Military Parade, at the Royal Palace of Madrid.

The traditional celebration of the Pascua Militar is deeply rooted in the Spanish military and dates back to 1782 during the reign of Carlos III. The ceremony is held annually on the day of Epiphany at the Royal Palace of Madrid.

After the honours of the ordinance, the National Anthem was performed and 21 canons were shot. Felipe reviewed the troops. And Military forces gave the honours to their Majesties.

Then Their Majesties moved to the Saleta de Gasparini, where they received the greeting of the Commissions of the Central Organ of the Defense and the General Staff of the Defense, the Royal and Military Orders of San Fernando and San Hermenegildo, the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Civil Guard and the Royal Veterans Brotherhood.

After the greetings, the royals with the attending authorities and the members of the commissions moved to the Throne Room and took their places. The ceremony began with the imposition of decorations by King Felipe VI to different members of the Military Commissions.

Speaking at the event, King Felipe said, “these 40 years of democracy could not be fully understood without recognizing the deep identification with The Constitution that the members of our Armed Forces, State Forces and Security Forces and Intelligence Services have demonstrated. “

For the first appearance of the year, Queen Letizia debuted a new tweed jacket. The navy tweed jacket features a front closure with round neckline.

Letizia brought back a navy velvet dress from 2014. The floor-length navy dress debuted at the Easter was designed by Felipe Varela.

The highlight of the dress was stunning brooch that Letizia debuted today. A piece from the royal historical jewellery box, the brooch featured a grey pearl in the centre surrounded by diamonds and a teardrop-shaped pearl is hanging from it.

Duchess of Cambridge started 2019 with a familiar Catherine Walker Coat

Just like previous year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made their debut appearance of 2019 at the First Sunday Service of the new year with Her Majesty in Sandringham, Norfolk.

Duchess of Cambridge attended first church service of the year at SandringhamWilliam and Catherine had made it sort of a tradition to join Queen Elizabeth II along with their close friends for the very first service of the year in Norfolk, where the couple owns a beautiful residence Anmer Hall. Today they were joined by James and Laura Meade. James Meade is Princess Charlotte’s Godfather while his wife Laura Meade is Godmother of William and Catherine’s youngest son Prince Louis. The couple walked from Anmer Hall to the church with their friends.

On their way back, they greeted the members of the public who were waiting for them outside the church. The couple was laughing and joking during the walk enjoying their time.

For the first appearance of the year after 2018 Christmas Service, Duchess chose to bring back familiar pieces from her wardrobe to create an updated look. She was wearing a blue bespoke Catherine Walker funnel coat.

Catherine is turning 37 on coming Wednesday and I believe she will be marking her big day privately in London as George and Charlotte are starting their school on Tuesday so Couple will be moving to Kensington Palace on Monday. I wish her a very Happy Birthday.
