From label’s 2016 Pre-Fall collection, the dress is made of silk crêpe de chine in an emerald and ivory floral print. It features a fitted waist with self-belt and flared skirt, side slit pockets, exposed back zipper and silk lining. The slashed shoulder sleeves provided an interesting geometric twist to the free-flowing silk frock. The dress was sold at Rochas for £1504.
It was the society wedding of the year. But for Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, it was one of the most precious moments of her life. Her little sister Pippa Middleton was tying the knot. So no doubt Duchess has to choose a bespoke sophisticated dress that will justify her role on Pippa’s big day. Duchess chose Alexander McQueen, the same designer she chose for own big day in April 2011.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked very elegant and beautiful in a bespoke pale dusty pink mid-length dress that has deep V-Neck and billowing sleeves with fitted bodice. The dress was a customised version of the label’s Bell Sleeve Wool Crepe Dress. Duchess also owns a green gown featuring the same design that she wore in December 2012 for BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award. Huge thanks to Perth’s Fashion for the dress id.
Catherine paired the dress with a matching fascinator by another go-to label Jane Taylor.
As per Ella Alexander’s story in Harper’s Bazaar UK, the Duchess visited McQueen’s HQ in recent weeks to meet with Sarah Burton to discuss the design. As per Ella, “Presumably the Duchess didn’t want to overshadow her sister on her big day thus the pared-down, yet elegant look.”
Duchess was a total mother figure when she handled the young bridal party so efficiently that include her own adorable kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Princess Charlotte won the hearts with her beautiful smile at the entrance of the church. And, how we can forget that “royal Ssshhh”!!!
It may have been their aunt’s big day but Prince George and Princess Charlotte, dressed in Spanish retailer Pepa and Co, managed to steal the limelight from Pippa as they served as page boy and bridesmaid at the wedding of the year.
