Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the family with Prince George and Princess Charlotte who were being supervised by Nanny Maria. The lunch is hosted by the Queen every year before Christmas to meet and greet all the members of extended Royal Family who do not join her at Sandringham for annual Church service.
Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh was seen arriving at Buckingham Palace. Since announcing his retirement, it was one of the rare days when Philip was seen as he is spending his retirement at Windsor Castle these days.
Earlier this week the Royal Pastry chef Kathryn Cuthbertson and Chef de Partie, Victoria Scupham revealed the ginger Christmas Biscuit recipe. Over 1200 Christmas biscuits – mince pies are handmade in Buckingham Palace for each of the festive receptions held at the Palaces around Christmas time. You can check more details here.
Duke and Duchess arrived at the Palace all smiling. Duchess is wearing a pink coloured outfit. It looks like a new version of her Stella McCartney Coral Dress.
The old-style she had is made of shiny material, while the dress she is wearing today has a matte look. The dress featured a ruffle detailing at the front and pussy-bow neckline.
Catherine paired the with her In2Design Baroque Pearl Drop Earrings from Swedish label first time during Sweden visit in January 2018. The US Handmade the earrings feature a large baroque pearl dangling from a gold-filled wire. Due to the nature of Baroque freshwater pearls each piece is unique and vary in shape and size. The $152 earrings are still available online. That day Queen Letizia wore belongs to Queen Sofia.
The family will be heading towards their country residence Anmer Hall soon to spend the first part of winter break and attend Christmas Church Service with the Queen and Royal Family. I believe they will be spending New Year with Middleton Family.
Today, the fans and followers of Royal Family got a big Christmas treat when Clarence House and Kensington Palace released the Christmas Pictures of this year. The pictures will also appear on this year’s Christmas Cards.
The picture of Cambridge family was telling a story of happy family. The whole family was clad in blue and green colour coordinated ensembles. William and Catherine are sitting on a tree branch while Charlotte and George are standing on the same branch. George, I must emphasis on ‘in Pants’, has one arm around his father, while William has one protective arm around his little Princess.
We cannot miss the mega watt smile on Catherine’s face who is holding her mini me almost 8 months old Louis. Picture was taken by Matt Porteous in autumn at the Duke and Duchess’ country residence Anmer Hall. The pic shows a happy family having fun time outdoors. William and Catherine love being outdoor, and in this pic it look likes their kids have inherited that love from them. You can see grass stains on George and Charlotte’s shoes.
It was such a happy moment to see William and Catherine with their kids. Next week Queen Elizabeth II will be holding annual Christmas lunch that will be attended by the extended royal family. We will see Duke and Duchess arriving hopefully with kids. I will leave you with this old memory of Cambridge Family to ponder how far we have come.
The newly wedded Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank released four official photographs of their wedding today. The pictures were taken by the British Fashion and Portrait photographer Alex Bramall at Windsor Castle and later in the day at the private dinner at Royal Lodge.
In the first photograph Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are pictured in the White Drawing Room, Windsor Castle with The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip, Eugenie’s parents Duke and Duchess of York Andres and Sarah, Jack’s Parents Mr George Brooksbank and Mrs Nicola Brooksbank, Eugenie’s elder sister Princess Beatrice, Jack’s brother Thomas Brooksbank and their bridal party.
The second photograph has the Eugenie and Jack with their showstopper team i.e. the kids of their bridal party. Miss Theodora Williams; Miss Mia Tindall, Miss Isla Phillips; Miss Savannah Phillips, Prince George of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, Miss Maud Windsor, Master Louis De Givenchy.
The third picture is A candid black-and-white clicked in the Scottish State Coach, upon its return to Windsor Castle following the Carriage Procession.
In Fourth picture Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank are pictured at Royal Lodge, Windsor ahead of the private evening dinner, following their Wedding.
Princess Eugenie’s evening dress was designed by Zac Posen. Zac, present at the wedding yesterday, was inspired by the beauty of Windsor and the surrounding countryside. The choice of colour reflects the blush of an English rose. He took his inspiration from the White Rose of York.
The pin-tucked plissé is cut on the bias and mixed with signature drapes. The White Rose of York is subtlety embroidered on both the shoulder and back which hold together the cape. The silk for the gown comes from Biddle Sawyer Silk. The timeless style of the gown has a classic vintage vibe.
Princess Eugenie is wearing diamond and emerald drop earrings which were a Wedding gift from Jack and she also wore them yesterday with her tiara.
Her wedding tiara was not the only loan from Queen. Princess Eugenie also wore a hair slide belonging to The Queen. The side is actually Queen Victoria’s Wheat-Ear Brooches that were originally commissioned by William IV in 1830 for Queen Adelaide. They were passed down to Queen Victoria in 1837, and eventually to The Queen in 1952. Her Majesty has worn them as both hair slides and brooches.
In the wedding pictures, Alex has captured the grandeur of the royal status very beautifully. The white drawing room of the Castle went perfectly well with the beaming moment. “It is an honour and a privilege to be invited to photograph Princess Eugenie and Jack on this most special of days,” Bramall said in a statement released by the palace.
The presence of Prince Philip was also crucial. It is a matter of public knowledge that Prince Philip and his ex-daughter-in-law Sarah, the Duchess of York do not have a pleasant relationship and Philip has taken the great measures in the past to avoid Sarah. In the wedding picture, leaving their grudges behind Sarah is standing beside beaming Philip.
Another amusing observation is Mia Tindall’s expression. the almost 5-year-old daughter of Zara and Mike Tindall was looking totally un-amused by the hassles of being photographed.
Coming to the twinkles of millions of eyes, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, The royal siblings are totally pro now at being page boy and flower girl in a bridal party.
Sitting on the same settee, George is giving a cheeky smile to the camera that is fast becoming his signature smile for the cameras behind the palace doors while Charlotte is giving a shy smile holding the flower bouquet.
A very interesting and amusing thing was noticed by Gerts Royal on twitter. If you zoom out the reception picture, you will see a lady taking a selfie in the background.
Following the royal tradition, Princess Eugenie laid her wedding bouquet at the grave of an unknown warrior at Westminster Abbey this morning.
