Princess Diana was killed in a tragic accident in Paris at the age of 36 on 31st August 1997. Today, William and Harry toured the Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace, turned into a memorable White Garden, filled with white flowers and foliage a hue favoured by Princess. Designed from Princess’s favourite flowers, the garden is inspired by the memories and lifestyle of late Princess Diana.

As per the Kensington Palace, ‘The engagement will allow the Princes to pay tribute to the life and work of their mother the day before the 20th anniversary of her death. Together, they will reflect on the significant achievements of the Princess, and the legacy of her work which continues to resonate with so many today.

This year both brothers spoke candidly about their mother in various interviews and openly accepted how losing their mother at such a young age has affected their lives and reminded us why the public had such affection for her.

The royal trio undertook the engagement in a downpour, while fans of Princess Diana braved the rainy weather and left flowers and pictures of ‘People’s Princess’ at the gates of her home Kensington Palace that is now home to her both sons.

The garden was designed by the gardener Sean Harkin with the assistance of Graham Dillamore who knew the Princess from working in the gardens of Kensington Palace many years ago.

As per Historic Royal Palaces “Planting included an elegant palette of tulips and scented narcissi through a carpet of ‘forget me not’. In the summer, pots of classic English white roses will surround the reflective pool in the centre of the garden and the planting will become more exuberant, with glowing ornamental grasses weaving through Cosmos daisies and billows of graceful Gaura.”

These charities were supported by Princess Diana during her last years of life. The royal trio had the chance to talk to the representatives and get to know the impact of their mother’s charity work on other’s life.

Prince William and Prince Harry viewed the floral and picture tributes left by the Diana fans at the gate of the palace.

They had an impromptu walkabout and say thank you to those who made the journey to Kensington Palace.

Every year the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh spent the summer at their Scottish castle. It serves as the perfect opportunities for the royals to spent some quality time with family and relax away from the privy eyes of public and media.
