Queen Rania Al Abdullah, born Rania Al-Yassin in Kuwait on August 31, 1970, was destined for an extraordinary life. A life that would see her rise to become the Queen of Jordan and a global advocate for a variety of causes, including education, youth empowerment, and cross-cultural dialogue. Raised in a family that valued education and community service, Queen Rania’s early experiences laid the foundation for her future role as a prominent leader and humanitarian.

Rania married the then Prince Abdullah bin Al Hussein on June 10, 1993, who assumed his constitutional role as King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on February 7, 1999 and made his wife Rania – The Queen of Jordan. King Abdullah II and Queen Rania have four children – Crown Prince Al Hussein, Princess Iman, Princess Salma, and Prince Hashem.

Queen Rania has shattered stereotypes and expectations in the Middle East, championing the rights of women and children, advocating for quality education for all, and promoting intercultural understanding on a global scale.
