Ahead of her 53rd birthday tomorrow, Queen Rania of Jordan visited the Firyal Kofahi’s home-based kitchen in Irbid’s Hawar village. The visit was aimed to highlight economic empowerment opportunities for women. On Thursday, the stylish Queen of Jordan will be marking her 53rd birthday privately.
Upon arrival, Queen Rania was welcomed by Firyal Kofahi and her husband, Ahmad Dahadha. During the visit, Rania was informed about her the kitchen came into existence, how it has flourished in the past years and what the couple has planned for its future. Kofahi’s kitchen currently employs ten women, some of whom are Syrian refugees trained in the making of traditional Jordanian dishes by Kofahi herself.

Rania also met with the ladies supported by the kitchen and those who works at the kitchen. They shared their experiences and the impact their work has had on improving their livelihoods. The Queen then offered Kofahi financial support to help expand the kitchen and employ a larger number of community men and women.
Before leaving, the ladies celebrated Queen Rania’s 53rd birthday and a traditional cake was cut by the Queen.
Queen Rania was wearing a white long Abaya with purple flowers on it. She paired the dress with Jimmy Choo Allure Kitten heel pumps. (Thanks to RajwaRania style for the id).
