The British royals were out in force on the first day of Royal Ascot. Royal Ascot is Her Majesty’s one of the favourite events in Britain. This year racing starts on 20th June and concludes on 24th June.
The event started with the observation of one-minute silence in memory of victims of London and Manchester terrorist attacks and Grenfell Tower Fire.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge rode in the third carriage for the royal procession with Earl and Countess of Wessex.
For her 2nd Royal Ascot appearance, Duchess of Cambridge chose a white lace dress by Alexander McQueen.
Duchess wore a white dress from Dolce and Gabbana last year for her debut at Royal Ascot too. Big thanks to @katesclosetau for the identification of the dress.
The dress appears to be a bespoke version of a lace mini dress that originally retailed for £4,463. It is available at Farfetch for £2,395.
Here is another look at the dress from another angle.
She matched it with a new hat and finished her look with Gianvito Rossi praline suede pumps
The Duchess brought back a pair of earrings we have seen before, loaned to her by the Queen. The earrings were a wedding gift to HM from Bahrain.
It seems Duchess carried a Loeffler Randall’s ‘Tab’ clutch. WhatKateWore found out the clutch is available at Net-A-Porter.
HM was in a green ensemble. For the opening of Royal Ascot Countess Sophie also chose the green colour.
Duchess and Countess shared a laugh when Sophie lost her balance as she got into the carriage and Duchess caught her.
