The Duchess of Cambridge is a huge tennis fan and it is not a secret. We have seen her in the royal box at Wimbledon many times.
This year as a new patron of All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, Duchess was present for the opening match of the tournament. The Duchess took the patronage of AELTC from the Queen in December 2016. The Queen was the patron for 64 years. The patronage was something we have been expecting for a long time.
Before the opening match, Catherine met ball girls and ball boys. She was also introduced to ex-tennis players Kim Clijsters and Martina Navratilova.
Catherine celebrated the British Champion Andy Murray’s win in the opening match of the Wimbledon tournament.
