Today Queen Letizia of Spain visited the Campus of IESE in Madrid to deliver the second edition of the “International Friendship Award” to four Chinese business leaders.
The awards recognize the business trajectory of Chinese leaders to the global business, through investment and the creation of employment in China and in the Exterior with the aim to acknowledge the achievements and contributions of entrepreneurs to social progress and to promote entrepreneurial spirit across the world.
Each year the Chinese government awards prize to 50 foreign experts in different areas, while on certain anniversaries, up to 100 people are rewarded. In total, some 1249 foreign professionals from 67 countries have received the “Friendship Award” since 1991.
Upon arrival, Letizia was received by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Spain, the Director of IESE, and Professors.
Before the delivery of the award, a short video about the winners was played.
Queen Letizia presented the awards to the winners.
A lecture by IESE Business School’s Economics professor, Pedro Videla, under the title “Siglo XXI: a century of convergence”, ended the event.
At the end of the event, Queen Letizia met with staff from the IESE Business School in Madrid and the former students of the school.
Once again bringing her thrifty style statement to the front Queen Letizia recycled her wardrobe.
Queen was wearing her Hugo Boss ‘Capina’ cape premiered during a visit to Germany in October 2015.
Underneath the cape, She wore her black knit top and Roberto Verino jacquard skirt that she recently wore to the delivery of the Tomás Francisco Prieto Prize in February this year.
