
Today giving the contestants a pleasant surprise King Felipe of Spain drove his wife Queen Letizia for the finale of the scientific monologue contest “FameLab España 2018” to the Galileo Galilei room in Madrid.
Began in 2005 at the Cheltenham Festival, the contest aims to promote the dissemination of science through an innovative format, combined with wit and humour.
Since 2007, thanks to the association with the British Council, “Famelab” has editions in more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa and also the United States. Worldwide there are already more than 8,000 scientists who have participated in any of its editions.
This year is the sixth edition celebrated in Spain, thanks to the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology and British Council Spain, with the collaboration of Obra Social “la Caixa”.
Today’s monologue contest had 8 participants giving 3 minutes of speech. A jury was formed by the professor of the University of La Rioja and winner of FAMELAB Spain 2013, Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón; the director of the National Research Center on Human Evolution CENIEH, María Martinón, and by the writer and scientific journalist author of books such as “The Brain Hunter”, Pere Estupinyá selected the winner out of the 8 contestants.
Just like every year once again Queen Letizia opted for a varied look reflecting the youth style. She wore a 2-piece white ensemble by Pedro del Hierro.
The ensemble consists of wide-legged pants paired with a sleeveless panel top with a crossed neckline at the back.

The ensemble belongs to the label’s 2017/18 Fiesta Collection.

Letizia paired the outfit with her Prada nude pumps. and was carrying a white and gold Adolfo Domínguez animal print handbag.

Giving a touch of jewel to today’s look the 45-year old Spanish Queen wore Arabel Lebrusan Filigree Links Bangle made of recycled silver and plated with yellow gold.
