Today King Felipe and Queen Letizia presided over the XXXV edition of Franciso Cerecedo Journalism Awards that are granted by the Association of European Journalists every year.
The Association’s honorary Presidency is held by the Spanish King. Every year the association, recognized a journalist with this award who carry on his/her job with ethics and value, bringing the correct information to the public respecting the expression of freedom and press freedom.
This year’s award winner is the journalist Rubén Amon. Amon was chosen by the jury for his brilliant writing, his versatility as a journalist and ability to entertain, with irony and humour, without sacrificing rigour, while highlighting his career as a correspondent in Rome and Paris, where he served at the newspaper El World.
Speaking at the event Felipe said, “we should express our gratitude to journalists who tirelessly seek the truth, to those who avoid letting themselves be won by emotions, preferring fidelity to the facts. On a day like today, when there is scarcely a month and a half left to mark the 40th anniversary of our Constitution, I would like to highlight what its ratification by the Spanish people meant for freedom of information and, consequently, for the profession or trade of journalism“.
Felipe’s wife Letizia herself was a renowned journalist before her wedding to the then Prince Felipe. She reported from the 9/11 incident from the United States and the war zone in Iraq.
Coming to the sartorial details, we were once again impressed by the style sense of Spanish Queen. The 45-year old Letizia definitely knows how to justify her status and position as the Queen.
She wore a black and white Carolina Herrera dress. Crafted from black crepe the dress had a contrast white diagonal detailing on the waist.
The midi-length dress featured vee-neckline, short sleeves with a fitted bodice and a flared skirt. The stunning piece is a custom creation of Carolina Herrera.
A closer look at the dress.
Letizia paired the dress with black and white leather Magrit pumps and carried Bottega Veneta Knot satin and snakeskin clutch. The clutch is currently retailing for $2100 at MyTheresa.
Letizia premiered a dazzling pair of earrings from her trusty label CooLook. She wore Venus Silver and Zirconias Earrings. The earrings are available online for €176.
After a long time, we saw Queen in curled hairs. The look of the day was exquisite and suitable for the event.
