The last day of the Scotland tour brought us a beautiful surprise. The Duchess of Cambridge met ‘Mila’ at the Palace of Holyrood House, Edinburgh. Mila was the wee star of a beautiful Hold Still portrait ‘Shielding Mila’.
5-year-old Mila Sneddon, who is fighting leukaemia, was looking absolutely adorable in a pink dress and a little tiara.
In April, Kensington Palace released a telephonic conversation between The Duchess of Cambridge and Mila in which Catherine promised Mila to meet her soon and to made sure to wear a pink dress. Today, The Duchess gave Mila a tiny trinket box inscribed with a message about bravery, while Mila gave her a candle and a bag.
If you haven’t heard the conversation yet, please do. From polite and graceful greeting to pink dresses, Mila’s family struggle and how they have to separate isolated to keep the little girl safe during the pandemic, the conversation is going to touch your heart and bring tears to your eyes. Little Mila was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in November 2019. In January, Mila received the Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People Star Award.
