After spending the afternoon with Scouts learning about the ‘Promise to the Planet campaign‘, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and the world leaders at the Clydeside Distillery for a reception hosted for the key members of the Sustainable Markets Initiative and winners and finalists of the first Earthshot Prize Awards.
COP 26 is United Nations’ 26th Climate Change Conference that is being held in Glasgow, Scotland between 31 October and 12 November 2021. The COP26 summit will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Her Majesty The Queen was supposed to join the reception but due to medical reasons, she had to cancel the in-person engagement and a recorded message was played. In her passionate speech, Her Majesty urged the world leaders to protect the future of our children’s children.

Earlier in the day, Prince Charles asked the World leaders to find practical ways of overcoming differences so we can all get down to work, together, to rescue this precious planet and save the threatened future of our young people.
Prince William introduced the finalists of The Earthshot Prize to the world leaders. Earlier in the day, he tweeted that COP26 is a landmark moment for the future of our planet — I’m proud that our Earthshot Prize Finalists will be joining me in Glasgow to show the world that there is reason to be optimistic.
The reception was a great opportunity for Prince Charles and Prince William to join their forces for their climate protection initiative. The Earthshot finalists and winners met with the Prize’s Global Alliance, some of the world’s largest corporations, philanthropists, and not for profits – who will provide unparalleled support to the Prize Finalists to help scale their solutions.
For more than five decades, The Prince of Wales has been a champion for the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss. With the Sustainable Markets Initiative, Prince Charles is gathering a global ‘coalition of the willing’ who share the vision around the need to accelerate global progress towards a sustainable future. The Flagship initiatives that includes Terra Carta, is a charter providing a roadmap for businesses to harness the power of nature over the next decade and the Terra Carta Design Lab, in collaboration with the Royal College of Art.
Speaking to ITV, COP26 President Alok Sharma remarked, “Asked if foreign leaders and ministers pay attention to warnings about the environment from the Royals, Alok Sharma said: “Absolutely… when members of the Royal Family speak, yes people do listen. So, I’m really pleased that the Royal family is with us in this fight in tackling climate change. When Prince Charles, Prince William, and others speak – yes, people do notice”.

Clydeside is Glasgow’s first dedicated single malt whisky distillery in over a century. Located beside the River Clyde, the distillery celebrates the city’s dockside heritage by opening its doors to visitors from at home and abroad for tours.
The guests at the reception were offered refreshments of traditional Scottish canapes, Ridgeview Vintage English Sparkling Wine and COP26 blended whisky supplied by the Scottish Whisky Association while they enjoy the music performances by a string quartet from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
A video of the day.
For the evening, The Duchess of Cambridge chose Eponine London Double Breasted Midi Coat Dress. Thanks to Laura on Twitter for finding the details of the outfit.
It seems the outfit is from the label’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection and features a wrap style with two contrast buttons on the waistline and pleat details at the shoulders.
The Duchess of Cambridge paired the outfit with her Kiki Blue Topaz and Diamond Drop Earrings.
It looks like The Duchess was wearing her Rupert Sanderson Malory Pumps
and carried her L.K. Bennett Frome Clutch.
The Duchess topped her outfit with The Codebreakers Poppy Brooch.
I will leave you with this family picture.
