The Crown Prince of Jordan, Hussein bin Abdullah, got engaged to Rajwa Al-Saif today. The Royal Hashemite Court announced the engagement on Twitter. Rajwa is the daughter of a Saudi Arabian businessman Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif and his wife Azza bint Nayef bin Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Sudairi.
The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce the engagement of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to Ms Rajwa Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif, and extends its sincere congratulations on this occasion.
The engagement was an intimate ceremony and took place at Rajwa’s Father’s home in Riyadh. Prince Hussein is the eldest child of Jordanian King Abdullah II and his wife Queen Rania and first in line to the Jordanian throne. Born on June 28th, 1994, Hussein is currently the Captain in the Jordanian Armed Forces. In 2016 he graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in International History.

Rajwa is the youngest child of her parents and after finishing her secondary education in Saudi Arabia she studied at the Syracuse University School of Architecture and then joined the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Rajwa has worked with an architecture company in Los Angeles. In 2016, talking about her nine-day field trip to Dubai as part of her degree program, Rajwa wrote on the University website, “What made this trip so memorable for me was seeing the students in the studio experience Arabic culture and architecture for the first time. Dubai is very intriguing, having contemporary architecture while also attempting to maintain the traditional beauty of the Arabic culture and history“.
Today’s ceremony was attended by King Abdullah II, Queen Rania, Prince Hassan bin Talal, Prince Hashem bin Abdullah, Prince Ali bin Hussein, Prince Hashim bin Hussein, Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, Prince Rashid bin Hassan and members of the Al Saif family.
Sharing her happiness on social media, Queen Rania wrote,
I didn’t think it was possible to hold so much joy in my heart! Congratulations to my eldest Prince Hussein and his beautiful bride-to-be, Rajwa
Hussein presented his bride-to-be with a diamond ring. The ring features a Pear cut Diamond supported by two small similar diamonds set on either White Gold or Platinum. The label of the ring was never confirmed by the Royal court.
From the very beginning, Rajwa has set her style standards – The Princess-to-be was looking elegant in a traditional Oreint 499 Abaya. Rajwa’s Abaya was originally from the 2013 collection.

The label later released the same piece again after renaming it Rajwa Linen Love Birds Abaya. The $1150 abaya was described as, “Hand embroidered with floral patterns from the front and with a pair of love birds on the back with beads and sequins, the Rajwa Abaya is a staple house classic. Crafted from fine Belgian linen, it is a unique piece that will turn heads.“
Underneath the Abaya, Rajwa wore a green dress and topped the outfit with Queen Rania’s Metal belt. Yes, Queen Rania’s – the mother and daughter-in-law duo began their relationship by sharing the wardrobe. Queen Rania wore the bronze belt in May 2019, at the Jordan Independence Day ceremony in Amman.
Rajwa was wearing a pair of Chanel black and metallic Green slingback kitten block heel pumps.
Rajwa also seems to be wearing a sleek diamond necklace but due to the lack of clear pictures, it was hard to identify.
Update: On December 31st, The Royal Hashemite Court announced that Crown Prince Hussein and Rajwa Al Saif will get married on June 01st, 2023.
