The Princess of Wales, Catherine, has launched the next milestone project of The Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood – Shaping Us. Yesterday after the pre-launch event, a short 90-second claymation film was released to depict the importance of the first five years of a child’s life and how the brain develops during this period.
Today, The Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood released a video in which the Princess of Wales described the campaign and why it has been launched. Wearing a green Burberry Jacket with the black ribbed knit outfit, The Princess of Wales was proud to launch the campaign and said,
“Our early childhood, the time from pregnancy to the age of five, fundamentally shapes the rest of our lives. But as a society, we currently spend much more of our time and energy on later life. Today, The Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood is launching a new campaign – Shaping Us. To raise awareness of the life-changing impact we can have, when we build a supportive, nurturing world around children and those who care for them. Because by focusing our collective time, energy and resources on these most preventative years, we can make a huge difference to the physical and mental health and happiness of generations to come.”
The ‘Shaping Us’ campaign came after a decade-long journey throughout which The Princess of Wales has been working with experts, scientists and charities, organisations and representatives of the Early Years sector. This whole week, there will be many personal visits across the nation, and multi-media activities to promote the campaign.
The Shaping US campaign is a long-term project for the Princess and the Royal Center for Early Childhood, beginning with how a child develops and the importance of the formative years. It will explore in more depth the importance of a child’s social and emotional world and the significance of relationships, surroundings and experiences.
Yesterday, The Princess of Wales, joined by her husband, visited BAFTA in London for a pre-launch event where she gave a speech ahead of the campaign launch and met the early years’ representatives and stakeholders.
In the video, The Princess of Wales was wearing a custom-made Burberry blazer in emerald green and a black ribbed round-neck top or dress.
Catherine paired the outfit with Shyla London Biaritz Squiggle Earrings first worn in November 2022 at a basketball match in Boston.
and Daniella Draper Gold Citrine Baby Treasure Necklace debuted earlier this month when she hosted a reception for England’s wheelchair rugby league team at Hampton Court Palace.
