The Hispanic History portal is an open work project in which all types of content on Hispanic history are freely available to institutions and specialists who collaborate in its preparation and updating for public consumption. The contents have the criteria of authority and the guarantee of scientific quality provided by the more than 500 national and international scientific institutions that have collaborated in the development and implementation of this database and the nearly 5000 Spanish historians and researchers. and foreigners who have contributed to its elaboration.

King Felipe addressed the gathering in which he described the Digital Portal as a “Grand and fascinating project that displays its extensive content and capabilities without shifting its centre of gravity: our historical and current identity. Browsing through its pages, we see our culture projected through time and in global geographic scope”.

The Royal Academy of History has updated the contents of the electronic Biographical Dictionary (2018) for this portal and has reviewed, expanded and updated the information on historical events that made up the Chronological Atlas of the History of Spain (2008). King Felipe and Queen Letizia also opened the electronic Biographical Dictionary in 2018.
