It was dubbed as the society wedding of the year. But for Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, it was one of the most precious moments of her life. Catherine’s little sister Pippa Middleton was getting married to hedge fund manager fiancè James Matthews at St. Mark’s church, in Englefield, Berkshire. So no doubt The Duchess has to choose a bespoke sophisticated dress that will justify her role on Pippa’s big day and she chose Alexander McQueen, the same designer she chose for her own big day in April 2011.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked very elegant and beautiful in a bespoke Alexander McQueen Pale Dusty Pink mid-length dress that has deep V-Neck and billowing sleeves with fitted bodice. The dress was a customised version of the label’s Bell Sleeve Wool Crepe Dress. Huge thanks to Perth’s Fashion for the dress id.
Catherine paired the dress with a matching Jane Taylor Dusty Pink Hat.
As per Ella Alexander’s story in Harper’s Bazaar UK, the Duchess visited McQueen’s HQ in recent weeks to meet with Sarah Burton to discuss the design. As per Ella, “Presumably the Duchess didn’t want to overshadow her sister on her big day thus the pared-down, yet elegant look.”
Duchess chose her trusty Gianvito Rossi’s ‘Gianvito 105’ Praline pink pumps for the big day.
Catherine finished the elegant look with Kiki Morganite Double Drop Earrings.
The Duchess of Cambridge was in a mothering mode when she handled the young bridal party so efficiently that include her own adorable kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Princess Charlotte won the hearts with her beautiful smile at the entrance of the church. And, how we can forget that “royal Ssshhh”!!!
It may have been their aunt’s big day but Prince George and Princess Charlotte, dressed in Spanish retailer Pepa and Co, managed to steal the limelight from Pippa as they served as page boy and bridesmaid at the wedding of the year.
Princess Charlotte, who is just 2 years old, was adorable and cute as a button in a white dress that had a dash of pink matching Mummy’s outfit and headpiece made of the flower.
It was a sisterly moment when Catherine was seen setting Pippa’s train before Pippa said I do, just like Pippa did at the royal wedding in 2011.
At the end of the ceremony, The Duchess of Cambridge had a moment with her adorable kids.
