King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the XXXIV edition of the “Francisco Cerecedo” Journalism Prize granted by the Association of European Journalists, to the journalist Florencio Domínguez at Hotel Ritz in Madrid.
The award is delivered to honour the journalists who fight the pressures and influences of power and promote freedom of expression.
On arrival, the royal couple was greeted by the President of the association. They were accompanied by the Minister of Education along with jury members of the award.
Once King and Queen occupied their places at the presidential table, a concert was held by Pepe Rivero, who offered a selection of works by Frédéric Chopin covered in a jazz key. Once finalized, His Majesty the King presented the award to Florencio Domínguez.
Addressing the gathering, King Felipe thanked the Association of European Journalists for the opportunity to deliver the Prize Francisco Cerecedo Journalism again, “a call that represents the recognition and promotion of that quality journalism that builds and develops in the scope of the best values “, which on this occasion distinguishes Florencio Domínguez.
For the occasion, the 45-year-old Queen Letizia chose a daringly bold dress. On arrival, Queen Letizia was wearing her black Carolina Herrera fur neck cape.
The Cape belongs to the label’s fall 2016 Collection and Letizia first wore it on the eve of the Princess of Asturias Awards 2016.
Inside the hotel, Queen removed the cape displaying a white glittering mini dress. The dress made by Teresa Helbig in 2008 has layers of white fabric detailed with shimmering sequins.
It features contrast black velvet small suspenders to hold the dress with a thick black velvet neckline. The dress has been believed to be part of the Queen’s wardrobe for a long time.
Letizia paired the dress with contrast accessories. She chose black Prada Saffiano patent leather pointed-toe pumps that are available online for $630.00 and was seen carrying Felipe Varela black satin clutch bag.
Diamond earrings that were gifted to Queen at her wedding by King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, with mysterious green stone ring gave the finishing to today’s stunning look.
