An avid tennis fan herself, Catherine is the patron of Lawn Tennis Association and in the last year had carried many tennis related engagement. Today’s visit was to see the work of coaches in the local community.
The Duchess received a warm welcome from Bond Primary School, which is one of the 65 local schools that benefit from Wimbledon Foundation free tennis coaching. The Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative promotes the benefits of physical activity and has introduced more than 95,000 local children to the sport through their free tennis coaching sessions.
The sessions involve various tennis activities, such as drills and racquet skills, to help build technical ability and promote values such as teamwork, fairness and disciple.
