Today Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the presentation of the project “Digitized” which aims to train 5,000 women in rural Spanish surroundings in digital literacy, entrepreneurship and employability at Reyes Catolicos Hotel.

The project is initiative of the Women’s Foundation, and Google.org Cibervoluntarios Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, which aims to provide digital literacy training, improve employability and facilitate the entrepreneurship of women living in rural areas.

The event started with the presentation and was followed by a round-table meeting that counted on the experience of three women, from three different generations.

Speaking at the presentation Queen Letizia said, “thanks to projects like this one today, which also belong more to the rural area, women in this field are realizing how important it is in this knowledge society in which we now live to access information. And that’s why I’m here: to give visibility to this project because digital literacy has to do not only with doing paperwork or negotiations. It has to do with leisure, with culture, of course with an improvement from a professional perspective. And it also has to do with that isolation that is more complicated in rural areas “.
