The first child of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince George is turning 5 today. To mark the birthday Kensington Palace released a portrait of Prince George. The picture was taken by Matt Porteous earlier this month in the gardens of Clarence House after the christening of George’s younger brother Prince Louis on Monday 09th July.
It seems like the time flies. We all remember the proud smile of Prince William and glassy eyes of Duchess Catherine on 22nd July 2013 when they introduced their first child to the world on the steps of the hospital. We cannot forget the nervousness in their body language as first-time parents.
Soon the young Prince was growing up. We saw him having fun during the Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2014. The palace released this beautiful portrait of the then family of three to mark George’s first birthday that year.
The same year the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge gave the royal fans a treat by issuing Prince George’s three portraits clicked by Catherine on Christmas.
He was the star of his Great-Grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday portrait in April 2016 holding his father’s hand while giving a chubby and cheeky smile to the camera.
His shy wave when he visited his new baby sister in the hospital in the arms of his father in 2015. The palace released the cheeky moment from Princess Charlotte’s christening to the mark the 2nd birthday of Cambridge heir.
On his 4th birthday, he was already a grown-up. Duke and Duchess released this portrait clicked by Chris Jackson.
In 2017 when Duchess was suffering from severe morning sickness during her third pregnancy, George started his school where Prince William proudly took him to the school on his first day.
This year the little George became the older brother of another sibling. The Cambridge family welcomed their third child Prince Louis in April. George was once again cheeky and mischievous in the official christening portraits.
World media labelled him as a shy Prince who is too much aware and conscious of the camera in the public eye. But it is a well-known fact that the young Prince is growing into a happy and confident kid behind the closed doors of the palace. Rebecca English from Dailymail wrote this beautiful piece describing the life of Cambridge family and George’s upbringing.
An unseen portrait of probably only one-year-old Prince George cradled in this arms of his Grandfather Prince Charles of Wales is among the ‘very personal’ exhibition of more than 100 artworks curated by Prince Charles for this year’s Buckingham Palace summer opening.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were seen riding a bike in the Kensington Garden last week on the careful watch of their Nanny Maria and two royal bodyguards. Thanks to Christin Zi and Tea Time with Cambridges on Twitter for the tip.
It is being reported that the Cambridge family left for a vacation in Mustique with Middleton family on Monday, where they will celebrate the 5th birthday of Prince George in an intimate gathering. Mustique was always the significant hideaway for the Cambridge family even before the wedding of Prince William and Kate. Last time we saw Kate going on vacation was in 2016. The Cambridge and Middleton family used to go to Mustique in January every year but it seems kids being in school we can see them going there in summer break now. I wish this cute little fella a very happy birthday and hope to see him growing into a lovely young man who will lead the royal family and his nation one day.
