Today Queen Letizia was in her home town Oviedo to open the Academic Year 2018/2019 at CP Baudilio Arce, under the IES Doctor Fleming. Its an annual engagement that Queen Letizia undertakes every year.
The CP Baudillo Arce is a public school that currently develops its activities as the centre of an ordinary regime. It was officially opened on February 20, 1978. It currently hosts two educational stages with a total of 18 units in operation, Early Childhood Education, with students of 3, 4 and 5 years, with two groups by level and Primary Education, from 1 to 6 with two groups per level.
The School is attached to the IES Dr Fleming, Center of Secondary Education that integrates the different levels of the Educational System: Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), Baccalaureate and Vocational Training. It offers, therefore, all those teachings that mediate between Primary Education and the University.
Upon arrival, Queen was received by the President of the Principality of Asturias and the day started with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
Letizia toured around the facility to have a first-hand experience of teaching methods and techniques. She visited an area where primary students were participating in learning activities involving mathematics, reading and drawing. Queen held a meeting with the council of Secondary school and representatives of parents and teachers association.
Letizia who is celebrating her 46th birthday on Saturday, spend quality time with school pupils and was in full mother mode.

Before leaving Letizia met with parents and members of the public who were eagerly waiting to meet her.
For the day Letizia chose a very comfortable and stylish look that is her signature style and totally opposite of her previous year’s look.
She brought back Gingham Wool Blend Knit top from HugoBoss that she first wore in June 2018 at the Students Residence Board Meeting.
The 45-year-old Spanish Queen pair the top with white Hugo Boss ‘Hotaru’ Stretch Crepe Wide Leg Trousers that she has in her wardrobe since 2016.
Letizia was wearing blue and white Navy leather pumps from Magrit was suitable match with wide-leg pants that also debuted in June 2018 at the Students Residence Board Meeting.
The only new element of today’s look was the Crawler Skyline Earrings from Gold & Roses. Inspired by the New York skyline – a cosmopolitan collection full of luxury and elegance, the €2107 earrings are set in 18kt white gold and diamonds.
