The objective of these awards is to recognize the contribution of people, entities or organizations that carry out initiatives and actions in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) applied to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, and that they have developed a continuous work in the field of ICT accessibility.

During the ceremony, the company “Inclusive Flamenco José Galán” presented the show “Real dreams of possible bodies”, once the performance was over,  a video about the Discapnet awards and the winners of this year was screened.

Queen Letizia presented the awards to the winners. The awards are presented in three categories A, B and C. Category A is the Prize for the best product or service based on technologies for improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and the winner is the Irisbond Duo that provides technical support to blind people.

Category B Prize is for the person, company, entity or organization that has most stood out for its continued trajectory in terms of improving access to technology and was given to a European Commission – Immaculate Placencia.

Category C Award recognizes the project of entrepreneurship with social impact for the improvement of the quality of life of people with disabilities through technology and won by Marsi Care.

The awards in categories A and B are endowed with € 5000 in each of the categories and the prize in category C with € 20,000, which must be entirely allocated by the winner to the development of the award-winning project.

For the day, Queen Letizia chose a beautiful floral Sandro All-Over Print Long Silk Dress that she debuted at the XI Call for Social Projects of Banco Santander in May this year.
