On Tuesday evening, King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended the 30th Anniversary celebrations of the Spanish Newspaper El Mundo at the Westin Palace Hotel in Madrid.
El Mundo, owned by Unidad Editorial, was founded in 1989 by Pedro J. Ramírez, Alfonso de Salas, Balbino Fraga and Juan González. It is the second-largest Spanish newspaper and the world leader in general information in Spanish. Unidad Editorial is the leading multimedia communication group in Spain. It publishes the newspapers El Mundo, Expansión and Marca, as well as the specialized journals Medical Journal and Pharmaceutical Mail.
The event began with a video projection showing the 30 years journey of El Mundo and ended with King Felipe’s speech, “30 years have passed; three decisive decades of the history of our country. And tonight we commemorate and celebrate the extraordinary contribution to this newspaper, so many professionals. Their contribution in shaping history. Congratulations to all of them.”
For the dazzling evening that must have been a journey down the memory lane, ex-journalist Queen Letizia stepped out in a stunning bespoke red off-shoulder dress from Roberto Torretta.
We first saw the stunning dress on the day 2 of the State visit to Argentina when Felipe and Letizia hosted an official reception in the honour of President and First Lady of the host country.
Tonight Letizia paired the dress with her gold Jimmy Choo ‘Misty 120’ liquid mirror leather platform sandals debuted in Argentina this year. The $ 875 sandals are available online are also available on Harrods, Farfetch.
She was carrying her Carolina Herrera Metropolitan Insignia clutch that she first carried in March during the Gala dinner in Argentina this year.
The new element of today’s look was her stunning earrings. The still unknown diamond earrings feature a leaf shape with a central round stud hanging from a square stud.
