Early in the morning, Queen Letizia held a videoconference meeting with the representatives of the Federation of Cinematographic Distributors, who have transmitted to her the effects of the crisis and her plans to regain the confidence of the spectators.
The Distributors explained graphically that has gone from the best year, 2019 to the worst in 2020. The effects of the pandemic have interrupted an upward trend that had been registered in terms of attendance at movie theatres in Spain.
2019 had been the year with the highest number of viewers of the last decade in our country, with more than 105 million viewers; 7% more than the previous year. And the second in terms of collection. And that trend of the increase was maintained in the first two months of this year. The cinematographic sector had been growing in Spain and in most of the European countries around us. But the health crisis closed the rooms and has broken that positive cycle.
The Letizia joined Felipe for a conference with the the “Forum of Renowned Spanish Brands” that was attended by the prominent honorary ambassadors of the Spain Brand, committed to joining efforts to overcome the negative impact and regain international confidence in Spain.
Founded in 1999, the Leading Brands of Spain Forum (FMRE) is a public-private alliance made up of more than one hundred of the main Spanish companies with leading brands in their respective sectors, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, ICEX Spain Export and Investment, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM) and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
Its objective is to promote at all levels the strategic importance of brands and boost their internationalization, thus enhancing the image of Spain through these brands and in collaboration with the administration and the Honorary Ambassadors of the Spain Brand.
Among the attendees was the Spanish Tennis champion Rafael Nadal.
For the day, Queen Letizia wore Hugo Boss Jalorra Blazer in Glen Check Prince of Wales Print.
She paired it with black trousers and green ribbed neck jersey top.
and what looked like her Boss Lara loafers.
Her bezel stud earrings
and her Karen Hallam ring finished the look.
